Having lived in London, I know firsthand how gloomy some days can be. British firm Ab Rogers Design found a clever way to add light inside a city dwelling. The Rainbow House, considered to be “living artwork”, incorporates color, movement and fantasy to create a home design that is full of surprises. The focal point of the home is a spectrum-colored spiral staircase and skylight that create a virtual rainbow from ground floor to top floor. Mirrored walls in the bathroom mimic a prism. “Brick roads” – each floor was painted a corresponding hue to the stairs on its level – and a fully functioning slide, create a fairytale feel in this urban home.
